Ace Hardware Helping Hands Donation Provides Stop the Bleed Kits for Miami-Dade Schools through Nicklaus Children’s School Health
Ace Hardware knows the value of doing good in their local community and has once again gone above and beyond to support their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Ace Hardware generously funded the purchase of three Stop the Bleed training kits for the School Health Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. This program currently serves 48,000 students in 62 Miami-Dade County public schools. The Stop the Bleed program equips school staff, including physical education instructors, with life-saving skills to manage severe bleeding in emergency situations. This program was developed in response to the tragic Parkland schools shooting in 2018, with the understanding that fast and effective intervention makes the difference between life and death. The school district has recognized the critical value in Stop the Bleed kits and training, but did not have the resources to run this program without the School Health Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
Due to Ace Hardware’s funding for these kits, “Stop the Bleed” techniques can be integrated into the existing CPR and First Aid training at schools, certifying staff not only in emergency medical skills but also allowing these instructors to go on and train others within their school community.
Thank you Ace Hardware for being not only the place with the helpful hardware folks but changemakers in your local community!
